New Independent Report Recommends "Expand End User Monitoring For A More Proactive I&O" And Places NEXThink in The "Desktop-Based Monitoring" Category.

July 22, 2011 - Lausanne, Switzerland - NEXThink, an innovative desktop monitoring software company, today announced new research from a leading independent research firm Forrester Research which cites the NEXThink V4 solution, stating "this is typically a proactive solution that allows I&O to gain visibility into the desktop and its issues, especially when it comes to compliance, vulnerability, and overall understanding of how end user workloads are generated". The report, entitled Trends: The Diversification Of End User Experience Monitoring (Forrester Research, Inc., July 5, 2011), is available to authorized Forrester Research subscribers.

The Forrester report declares "Understanding the performance of a business service starts with monitoring at the end user level, a trend that software-as-a-service (SaaS) and other forms of cloud computing are reinforcing", and adds, "Although vendors still focus on application performance management, their attention is diverting to end user activities at the PC and mobile device level".

The report breaks end-user monitoring solutions into 3 categories — Application Performance Management, Web Monitoring Solutions and Desktop–Based Monitoring Solutions.

Looking at the changes in the desktop-based monitoring landscape, the Forrester report states "NEXThink addresses the health of the client, in particular, whether the management tools used for security, patching, and deployment are working as intended. It provides a continuous monitoring of compliance, while also protecting user privacy, and the management of software licenses", and continues "NEXThink provides service-level agreement compliance monitoring and end-to-end performance monitoring integration".
